Today I went for a paddle in Lac La Biche, at Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park.
It was a beautiful warm sunny day. Winds were light. I paddled along the east and north shores and out to the Pelican Islands. Which had lots of pelicans, of course!
Lac La Biche covers approximately 234 square kilometres and averages 8.4 metres deep. Much of the water around the park is shallow. In the water along the north shore I found small patches of blue green algae (Cyanobacteria).
