Orange Tuesday White Wednesday

There’s a new colour in Edmonton this spring: NDP Orange.

Last night was monumental and historic in Alberta: the NDP are elected with a 53 seat majority. Rachel Notley is our new Premier.

“Friends I believe that change has finally come to Alberta” Rachel Notley said in her victory speech last night. “New people, new ideas, and a fresh start for our great province” (https://youtu.be/XB3MLf1FdlU).

As if to signify the rarity and importance of the event, it started to snow last night and in the capital we awoke to a thick, fresh blanket of white this morning. Symbolic of a white canvas, a clean slate ….
